Chimera

Imagine a great beast, start with a mighty lion, now replace it's tail with a venomous snake, atop the lion's back sits the head of a goat... that can breathe fire. You're thinking of a Chimera. Referenced in Greek mythology, this awesome creature is known for it's brute lethality. The Chimera is one of the most outright powerful and terrifying fantasy creatures.


Just think of the damage that the Chimera could do. The venom of the snake, in place of it's tail, could poison enemies that try to attack from behind. The head of the goat, sitting atop the back of the beast, could burn and scorch any target within it's range. On top of that, the fangs and talons of the lion, which could shred prey like knives.


So just where did this creature come from? All that we know is that it comes from Greek legend. Who could think of such a creature? In any event, the Chimera is a truly fascinating icon of power and terror, and has proven itself to be one of the most feared fantasy monsters.
