Game Genie

Console gaming has gotten more and more popular since the late 80s. From the original Nintendo Entertainment System up to the most current gaming systems, people have always looked for ways to enhance the games they play. Game Genie was a great way to do this on earlier systems, such as the Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis. The Game Genie was used with a series of codes which altered the game allowing various effects.


Some of the effects of the Game Genie were extra players lives, faster game play, easier or harder enemies, skipping levels, alteration of gravity and other various modifications. This made the game a lot more fun and added more game playing time.


The Game Genie was available for consoles up to and including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Genesis. Game Shark is a similar product which was available on the Playstation and Playstation 2, as well as a few others.
