Lightgun

The lightgun is a videogame gun that has been around since the 1980s. It has had many forms; the Nintendo Zapper for the NES, Peacemaker for the Sega Genesis, the Superscope for the SNES as well as the Guncon and Guncon2 for the Playstation systems. The lightgun is only as powerful as it's usability, however, and the traditional version of this gun cannot be used on an LCD or Plasma Tv.

Not all is lost though, for Playstation and Xbox lightgun lovers, there are third party alternatives to the licenced guns that are available for those systems. These guns use a sensor that is placed on or around the LCD or Plasma screen, and claim to work with all shooter games for those systems.

The LCD Topgun by EMS is one such example. It works with sensor bars you place to the right and left, or top and bottom of your Tv screen. Best of all it works with ALL kinds of televisions, even projector screens. Heck, it even comes with a laser sight! The only bad thing about this lightgun is that the setup can be tricky, but it's worth it to play all your favorite gun games again! According to the website, it works for XBOX, PS2, PS3(Guncon2 Games Only) and the PC.
