Pool Cue Tips

There are a number of factors that determine when it is time to replace your pool cue tips. How much use your pool cue has and the density of the tip are some determining factors that can let you know when it is to be replaced. It’s interesting that in the earlier days of pool they did not use pool cue tips.


Pool cue tips have a broad range of prices depending upon the type and quality of tip you select. There are as well a variety of tools that can be used in the maintenance of your cue tips, although it is advised that overuse of these tools can require more tip replacements. In general it is suggested that tips should be replaced whenever they wear down to 1mm from touching the ferrule.


Some choices of pool cue tips include, pig skin tips, ram tips, buffalo tips, a mixture of leather and synthetic of which is said to last longer than leather alone.
